OUTREACH

This section is about furthering complementary interests with other groups, campaigns and organisations. Outreach can consist of: direct support for what they are doing, developing reciprocal benefits, partnerships and/or participating in coalitions. It can also be exploratory, including attending one-off conferences and other events, which might open up possibilities for our future action.

For example, through attending one of these, on 12 November 2004, Jim wrote a chapter in a subsequently published book: ‘Surviving Climate Change’ David Cromwell and Mark Levene eds., Pluto Press 2007. His chapter: ‘Averting Climate Change: The Need for Enlightened Self-interest’ is based on the Boiling Point issue July 2004 - By Force, Persuasion or Enlightened Self-Interest

Since this section includes a lot of material previously categorised as Campaigns, and from both former global and national web-sites, it is subdivided, through use of internal links with global, UK national, and local and by years. Local outreach is mostly to do with South London, where our office is, but can be local to wherever our members live and are active within the UK.

Much of our outreach activity is with the same organisations, particularly: All Parliamentary Party Climate Change Group, Campaign against Climate Change, Climate Camps, Education Dialogue Group, Stakeholder Forum in succession to United Nations UK Committee, Stop Climate Chaos, and Transition Town Brixton.
